St. The Andreas Order was founded on 10 March 1896. The order is a secret fraternal society which is independent of and unaffiliated with other Danish or foreign orders.

The order’s degree system is structured in six degrees, which are again divided into two departments. 1st department consists of 1.-2. degree, while the 2nd division consists of 3rd-6th. degree. The division into departments has changed over time. 6th degree is also called the Chapter.
